Ok, so Thursday I decided to venture out for the first time to the Baby Store Mecca "Baby's R Us". Boy what a mistake for a first time mom to do all by herself. I walked into the store and was just sooooo overwhelmed by all of the merchandise. They had an entire section, and I mean an entire wall just devoted to bottle nipples and pacifiers!! Not the bottles them selves just the nipples, who would have thought there were sooo many options , I mean come on we are talking bottles here right?? And pacifiers...yes, the tiny objects you put in a crying baby's mouth to suck on.. the options were unbelievable, I was just mesmorized. I then ventured into the Car Seat and Stroller aisle and I must confess I felt silly. I have no idea what I am doing or what the heck I need!! My wonderful sister in laws have given me a whole lot of stuff but there are "fill ins" that need to be purchased and everyone is wanting me to register for the baby shower and I have no idea what I need to register for ...lol!! I spent about 45 minutes just walking through the store, the amazing part was everyone in the store was either pregnant or had a child with them. It was almost like some sort of sisterhood, we all wore our belly's proudly and yes, mine was showing just like all the rest. I even found myself relaxing in one of the glider rockers on display, just taking in all of the stuff. I finally left the store and yes, I bought nothing, but my head was spinning with everything that I saw. I called Eddie and quickly announced to him we can't have this baby because I have no idea what I am doing or if I will be able to choose the right pacifier...I was just rambling on to him and like a good husband he just listened and said , "honey we will go look together some evening, it will all be fine." Geez, who would have thought he would be the level headed one ???
Well on Friday I spent the day with my sister in law Tammy and my neice Makayla and she took me by the and and took me to Baby Depot inside of Bulington Coat Stores and this trip although a bit overwhelming was not as bad because she was there to "show me the way", well she is a vetern mom 2 times over you know ..! I did buy a Baby Book for the Baby to keep track of the "first years", a pink elephant to go to the hospital to keep in the nursery or NICU so the baby will not get lonely and the most ADORABLE PINK football for Eddie that says "Its a Girl" and has a spot on it for the Baby name and birth information, even a place for the signature of the Dr! It is just toooo cute, he LOVES it. I did feel a bit better about things after this trip, but there is still so much to learn and I'm running out of time.. only 10 more weeks to go!!
Time is flying by, I guess I need to start cramming... must learn all I can.....
