I can't beleive the last couple of days! On Thursday Eddie went to work and called me at about 9:30am to tell me he weas curled up in the fetal position in his office, his Kidney stone was back or it was another one passing he was not sure. He was just in a whole lot of pain and lets just say everything I made him for breakfast that morning had only been rented for a few hours! The sad part was I could not go get him because on Wednesday before my dr's appointment I discovered my car would not start...soooo it was in the garage! He insisted he was just going to "play" it out at work and hopefully the pain would get better and he could just drive home in a bit or something. I even called his sister and she was willing to come get me so I could go get him and the truck. I wanted to take him to the ER. Although we both know that at the ER, the most they can do is blood work, CAT Scan and give him pain meds to make him more comfortable. He insisted he would be fine... YEAH RIGHT!! FAMOUS LAST WORDS!! It was not less than an hour later he was calling me from the truck in pain telling me he was driving home and wnated me to talk to him the whole way home so he made it. What is it about men??? Why can't they just admit that they are sick, hurt , in pain and need help????? MEN... anyway, as soon as he got home I made him get back in the truck and I took him to the ER. He was burning up, had a fever, was bent over in so much pain he could barely walk...I got him to the ER and they took him right in. After being hooked up to an IV drip of pain meds and normal saline ( he was totally dehydrated), the was finally resting a bit more peacefully. They did a CAT Scan and he had a 3mm Stone in his Ureter between his Kidney and his bladder. They talked about blasting it , but since it was only 3mm they said he would have to pass it. They will only blast it if it is over 5 mm or if it was causing some type of major blockage. His luck I tell you. After about 6 hours of pain meds and doctors deciding what to do and not do to he was sent home with prescriptions and a "good luck" on passing this " baby". Funny, very, very funny... I was laughing though, I did tell him that I though I would be the first one in the new year to have a visit to the ER, but instead it was him. Quite ironic I must say.... So he of course did not go to work on Friday and pretty much laid around all day on pain meds and with me nagging him about drinking lots of fluids. There is only one way to pass this puppy and fluids are his only option of doing that!
So that has been the excitement at my house. My car is still in the shop ...apparently the proble is an inermittent problem that they may or may not be able to diagnose..?? Everyone is asking me what is wrong with it.. I just say "it is old...I think that says it all". We need to think about a new one but until I'm back in the workforce that just is not going to happen , and I'm not going back to the workforce till after little baby B is here soooooo we wait for the garages diagnosis and will just fix what we can and nurse the car through the next 6 months of so!
Tonight is the big Cowboys playoff game. I guess tonight is where will probably loose it all, let see will TO drop the ball or catch it for a touchdown?? How ridiculous I tell you...well I wish them luck.. I'd love to see them make it , but I have to stay realistic, we are not talking about the Steelers here. Remember the Superbowl Champions from last year? The underdog, Wildcard pick from last season... yeah, they did it , but I never had any doubt.. but the Cowboys... geez...one can only hope... I still can't beleive that Bill Cowher retired as the Steelers head coach!! What a loss, he was an Icon in Pittsburgh!! Like one of the players who was interviewed said so perfectly "Bill Cowher spits black and gold... he will always be a part of the Steelers!!". Ths sad part is he is not really retiring, he is just resigning...that means in a couple years he will be back, just not with Steelers...What is this world coming tooo???
