Ok, so the song by the artist "Vanilla Ice" really fits the weather today! I'm beginning to wonder if this really is TX or if I have been transported back to a Northern state and someone forgot to tell me! The weekend was very cold and wet! We woke up this morning and the temp was 22 degrees outside and the windchill was 12 degrees!!!! Ok, I understand for some of you that really is not cold but for us this is horrible. We were out last night and there was ice all over the trees and leaves, although a pretty side, it was so cold outside the windchill took my breath away. Eddie went left for work this morning and he called me and said the slid sideways down the street that leads to the main road in our neighborhood. He warned me not to go anywhere this mornng... of course I had no plans of going anywhere , just tooo darn cold out there for me and little Baby B.
The dogs are so cute in this weather though. Nana and Nicole spent some time out playing in the "ice covering" on the grass. Nicole was rolling around in the ice.. I really dont understand that , but she was enjoying herself. Nana was running around trying to get Nicole to chase her around. They even begged to go back out side after I let them in...I of course gave in and let them in and out to play some, why deny them the fun right? It is just so dangerous to leave dogs out in this weather and especially at night! I feel so bad for all the dogs who live outside in the weahter and honeslty I dont think people care. I try to remind them just how cold they would be outside in this weather...just makes me sad how some people treat thier animals. I know mine are bit "pampered" and do live a very "sheltered" live but I think basic human kindness and respect for you pets is not to much to ask for ...they need food, shelter, toys and most of all LOVE! And of course this weather is not fit for man nor beast!
I have a dr's appointment tomorrow morning, I do hope that it is not as bad. The weather this week is not suppose to get much above freezing till about Thursday of this week!! Can you believe that ? Every night this week it is suppose to be below freezing and I mean 22-27 degrees!! Could you imagine being a puppy or a kitty outside trying to keep warm in that kind of weather? Nope, just not right!
