I guess I still dont understand it and not sure I ever will. How a woman who kills her 5 innocent children can escape murder charges with a plea of insantity. Even better how a jury can allow this individual to be sentenced to an institution where she will be elegible to be released from based on her "proving" she is able to live in society and "play nice again"? Andrea Yates is a cold blooded killer who murdered her children! Yes, that is what I believe. "The Devil made her due it"??? What kind of crap is that... geez, I think all thieves, murders and criminals should use that plea. I guess the infamous Ted Bundy should have used that plea also....Maybe cry a bit in court and say how sorry they are and we let them all go into "institutions"?!? Doesn't anyone see something wrong with this picture or is it just me? I guess after watching the OJ Simpson trial , I should understand that anything is possible in America. Wait a second... innocent until proven guilty..right? Five dead children and she admits to doing it...she is guilty. An eye for an eye I say. I bet we could find a bathtub big enough for her to be drowned in now couldn't we? I can only imagine what was going through those childrens minds as they fought back while their mother drowned them. I can imagine the cries and pleading from the seven year old as he watched his mother kill his brothers and sisters. He was old enough to know what was going on and I'm sure he fought back...and this woman is not guilty of murder? I am speechless....I certainly hope that the jury members who found her not guilty can sleep at night.
What about Rusty Yates? Remember him... her loving husband? He new his wife was mentally ill. She had on 2 other occasions tried to kill herself?!? He new she was mentally unstable but CONTINUED TO HAVE CHILDER WITH HER??? He is as guilty of these murders as she is... he is to blame for putting those sweet children in danger by leaving them with their unstable mother. Why hasn't anyone accused him? Instead he is remarried and has moved on with his life....
Is there truely no Justice?
