Well we survived hosting our first Thanksgiving together!! It really was a great day, the picture above is a shot from the kid's table, ~ Makayla, Ethan, Ashleigh and Hunter. A couple kids were missing but you can't always get them in one place together.
Our day started out bright and early, waking up about 7:30am so that we could get the ham in the oven and run to Kroger to pick up the Turkey. I was a bit skepticle about how it would turn out but the Turkey was incredible. Not dry at all and very moist and almost buttery tasting! Ok, so it was already "cooked" but needed to be prepared so I give myself all the credit for that one. The Ham was incredible also, I'm just amazed that I was able to prepare everything and it all turned out and NO ONE left hungry! I do have to give my husband Eddie many, many Kudo's!! He helped with everything, all the cooking, all the setting up of the tables EVERYTHING! I have to say I am so lucky to have him. I mean I watch other peoples husbands / boyfriends and I see the way they treat thier wives/ girlfriends and just shake my head sometimes. I mean Eddie is always right there when I need him and is not afraind to do what is considered "womans" work. We really enjoyed working together making dinner and actually had a blast! I think my only complaint the about the whole day was we spent so much time getting everything ready and cooking and it was all over soo quickly! I guess that is the way it is always is right?
After dinner and after some of the people left, Eddie and his sister Cheri, went upstairs and started working on putting up the crib set!! It is soooo cute, they were unable to completely finish it because they were missing some screws so of course that means a trip to Home Depot right? As soon as it is put completely put together I will put up some pictures. I took pictures of the process while they were working on it so that some day our child can see how hard Aunt Cheri and Daddy worked on getting the crib up. It was actually the same crib that Cheri used for Ashleigh, it is really, really nice furniture and in great shape. I am not afraid to used "hand me downs" and look forward to LOTS of them!
Wednesday before Thanksgiving Eddie was off from work and we spent the morning watching Ethan and Kaitlyn for Tammy while she took Makayla to the drs and then went to Cheri's to pick up the Crib afterwards... we sure have had a couple busy day!!
