March 26, 2008

What a wonderful birthday for a precious little princess! We had her birthday party on March 15th at 4pm and it was simply almost perfect. Of course everything can’t always go perfectly but for a first birthday it was close enough. All of the people who love her showed up to celebrate with her and she got lots of new toys and lots of new clothes. She is just soo darn cute and of course deserves it all. Mommy and Daddy did not have anything for her to open on her birthday; mommy was waiting for parts to her Laugh and Learn House to come in to give it to her. I had found it on Craig’s List, my favorite place to shop these days, and it cost less than a quarter of the new price and was in great shape. I actually picked it up this week and called it a Birthday gift / Easter Present. I think that every parent buys their kids Birthday and Easter presents right? Tell me why would anyone criticize me for buying yet another toy for my little princess? She will only be this age once and I want to cherish every moment and give her all that I can to make being 1 more fun!
It was so nice to have her Grandma and Pappy from PA and her Aunt Heidi from AZ here for the week. W e did all kinds of fun things, including getting our picture taken with the Easter Bunny, picked up her first birthday pictures from sears, went to the Dallas Aquarium, and even went shopping at Grapevine Mills Mall where we found some really cute PJ’s for Elyssa at the Children’s Place Outlet. Dad and Pappy even worked on cleaning up the garage by building some neat shelves and even built a fancy baby gate to keep our little princess away from the stairs, bathroom, and dining area. Our house is starting to look like an obstacle course!
For her birthday that actually fell on March 20th, we went to the Dallas Aquarium, Sam Moon (to look for purses of course!) and we had a small party for her were we let her smash some more cake and just have a good time! It was sad to see everyone leave the following weekend but we plan to go visit Aunt Heidi and Uncle Ken and Grandma and Pappy later this year!
